ABOUT
STUDIO IF is a research based design practice by Irma Földényi (HU/NL). The studio is based in Rotterdam, has a thematic focus and works often collaboratively, spanning across research, design and education.
BIO
Irma Foldenyi is a Rotterdam based designer who works across design, research and education. Since 2018 she is running her practice STUDIO IF in Rotterdam. Besides her studio practice she has been teaching at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (Linking Bodies – Jewellery Department) and is a researcher in jewellery at Sint Lucas Antwerpen, Precious Dialogue research platform. She is co-founder of independent project ‘Jewellery Perspectives’ (2017-2022) together with curator Evelien Bracke for researching renewed definitions of jewellery in today’s society. Currently she is board member of the Francoise van den Bosch Award in the Netherlands.
Irma holds an MD from Design Academy Eindhoven, Social Design Masters (cum laude, 2012) and an MA from Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and Design, Product Design Masters (2009). Before that she studied as a goldsmith in Budapest.
